The clutch consists of several parts, and they can be replaced as a unit or individually. Without a working clutch, gas won't be compressed, and air won't get cool. These circles take energy from the engine and use it to power the compressor. Compressor clutch: You'll find the clutch as a series of interlocking circles at the top of the air conditioning system.Compressor: If the compressor itself fails, you will generally need to replace this F-150 part as a unit.In general, a kit includes a clutch and other assembly pieces, like screws. Compressor kits: A complete kit includes everything you need. Here are some of the part choices to keep in mind. First, you need figure out what part has broken, and second, you'll need find the right replacement for your F-150. and obviously getting a good gauge and Freon to properly charge the system.Depending on what is wrong with your Ford vehicle's A/C, you'll need to take two steps. In this case, I couldn't get the system to turn on without jumpering those two wires. The AC system was kept from the 1993 so the 1995 has the wires for the high pressure cutoff and the 1993 compressor does not have that switch, so you're left with a couple extra wires. Remember, I have a 1993 with the engine & wiring from a 1995. I did this so I could use the OEM plug connection and not cut up any wiring. So, to tidy up the bridged connection, I took a used high pressure switch from a newer model Bronco/F-150 and cut it open, bridging the internal connection via copper wire & solder and sealed it up with shrink tubing. Nice super cold air and holding a steady charge for over a couple of weeks now! I continued and properly charged the system. After that, I had cold air and a working system. ![]() Compressor wouldn't come on until I added approx. Update on this: I jumpered the connections on the connector and then checked the r134a charge, which was very low. ![]()
